It is with great pleasure that I write this introduction to you as the new Principal of Robert J. Richardson Middle School. I am both honored and humbled to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a vibrant student body, dedicated teaching staff, and supportive community. As I transition into this role, I look forward to learning more about you, and working closely with you to create the best possible learning environment for our students.
As a product of Chicago Public Schools, and the parent of two children who attended Chicago Public Schools, I am fully aware of the challenges that many of you face everyday. I am also fully aware of the capacity of our students, and believe that each of them has the potential for greatness.
With over 25 years of educational experience, I have worked with students ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade in a variety of roles. As a classroom teacher, one of my main goals was to provide students with meaningful experiences that prepared them not only for the next phase of their educational career, but also for life beyond the classroom. As a Dean of Students, I worked closely with students, parents, and teachers to foster an environment conducive to learning. And as an Assistant Principal, I’ve helped develop sustainable systems and structures that will improve student attendance and academic outcomes over time.
With that being said, I am thrilled to continue using the skills I’ve acquired to help Richardson Middle School write its next chapter, and I look forward to partnering with you in the education of your child.

Es un gran placer escribirles esta carta para presentarme como nuevo director de la escuela Robert J. Richardson. Me siento honrado y agradecido de tener la oportunidad de dirigir una escuela con un alumnado tan dinámico, un profesorado tan dedicado y una comunidad tan solidaria. Al asumir este cargo, espero conocerlos mejor y colaborar estrechamente con ustedes para crear el mejor ambiente de aprendizaje posible para nuestros estudiantes.
Como un ex alumno de las Escuelas Públicas de Chicago y padre de dos hijos que asistieron a ellas, soy plenamente consciente de los desafíos que muchos de ustedes enfrentan a diario. También estoy plenamente consciente de la capacidad de nuestros estudiantes y creo que cada uno de ellos tiene potencial para la grandeza.
Con más de 25 años de experiencia educativa, he trabajado con estudiantes desde kinder hasta 12.º grado en diversos puestos. Como maestro, uno de mis objetivos principales fue brindarles experiencias significativas que los preparan no solo para la siguiente etapa de su carrera educativa, sino también para la vida fuera del salón de clases. Como decano de estudiantes, trabajé en estrecha colaboración con estudiantes, padres y maestros(as) para fomentar un entorno propicio para el aprendizaje. Y como subdirector, he contribuido al desarrollo de sistemas y estructuras sostenibles que mejoran la asistencia y los resultados académicos de los estudiantes con el tiempo.
Dicho esto, estoy encantado de seguir usando las habilidades que he adquirido para ayudar a Richardson a escribir su próximo capítulo, y espero con anhelo asociarme con usted en la educación de su hijo(a).
