During this stressful time, physical activity can be a great release of stress, anxiety and can be a fun activity you can do with your whole family. I have attached some YouTube links of exercise routines that you can do in your house. I am also doing the same in my house. This time is difficult, but I hope to see you again soon in our Physical Education classes at Richardson Middle School. Until then, be safe, healthy and be well. -Mr. Maher Here is a basic workout that mimics many of the exercises we do in PE class. Please complete these exercises to the best of your ability. Try to do 3 sets each. Do as many repetitions until the last 2 repetitions are difficult. I would aim for 10 repetitions for each exercise. muscles_all_classes_2020.docx Here are some YouTube Links you can complete: PE with Joe www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz0go1pTda8 Kids Workout with Moe Jones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_A_HjHZxfI We are still working on the Push-Up Challenge. The ultimate goal is to complete 22 push-ups, but if you make a gain of 0 push-ups to 1, that is an amazing accomplishment! You have lots of time on your hands so it is a perfect time to work on your push-ups as well as your curl-ups and stretching which are all part of the FitnessGram Challenge. As discussed in class, you can hold a plank, do modified push-ups, do quarter push-ups and half push-ups until you have the strength to do a complete push-up. Here is the information on the Push-Up challenge attached. njhs_push_up_challenge_for_capstone_project__1_.docx Here are the cadences for the FitnessGram Challenge that students should always be working on.
